On Feb. 19, about 30 Johnston women attended the Vagina Monologues. With VIP seating near the front (right behind the cast), Johnston residents wore red in support of the event and all those involved.
The Vagina Monologues is a series of monologues written by Eve Ensler based off of interviews she had with various women. The Vagina Monolgues serves as an essential part of V-Day, a world-wide movement to stop violence against women and raise money for various causes. This year, the 79 person cast performed to an almost sold-out Jesse Auditorium (about 1700 people) and raised money for the Truth North Shelter, the L.E.A.D. Institute and the MU Stop the Violence Fund.
